Barclays: images of the month (April)
Speak Media picture editor Michael Crabtree looks back on his favourite images from the month of April.
We kicked off April with a trip to Pune, a bubbling metropolis near Mumbai where we met Barclays employee Sujit Unni who is Head of Cards and Payments Technology at Barclays’ Global Service Centre in India . We took a great snap of Sujit relaxing at home with his beautiful dog – where the blazing sunshine seemed a million miles away from the bland, quintessentially grey English weather.
A very different environment faced our next photographer in the suburbs of Manchester at the Seashell Trust – a charity supporting children and young adults with complex learning disabilities. We were there to highlight the fantastic work that Barclays employee Jan Kirwan does with the charity.
Keeping with a northern theme we headed to Bradford to visit Sandra and Paul Corcoran, the owners of Yorkshire-based bicycle shop Pennine Cycles. We had a great time filming the cycle-mad couple, and their enthusiasm shone brightly in the stills and video that we produced.
As part of our ‘Leading Questions’ strand for the Barclays website we visited CEO of Welcome to Yorkshire Gary Verity. We spoke to Gary about leading by example, living on a sheep farm and whether there’s a specifically Yorkshire approach to leadership.
