Speak wins CMA ‘Best Branded Podcast’ with Parkinson’s Life

Speak Media has won a 2021 International Content Marketing Award in recognition of the second series of our award-winning Parkinson’s Life podcast.

For more than two years, the Speak Media-produced Parkinson’s Life podcast has been tackling the stories that matter to people with Parkinson’s, racking up close to 15,000 downloads and picking up multiple plaudits, including ‘Best Global Audio Campaign of the Year’ at the 2020 Global Content Awards.

Now in its second series, the show has been recognised with the Gold Award for ‘Best Branded Podcast’ at the 2021 International Content Marketing Awards – beating heavyweight competition from the likes of Kaspersky, John Brown and Waitrose & Partners.

Announcing the award in a virtual ceremony, judge Trygve Tønnessen, senior creative at Geelmuyden Kiese, said: “Congratulations on a great podcast about a very important topic”.

Paul Williams, head of production and planning, said: "To win in this category against such stiff competition is an amazing achievement for our team. We couldn't be more pleased to be able to deliver this result for our longstanding and loyal client, the European Parkinson's Disease Association."

The Parkinson’s Life podcast is produced by Speak Media on behalf of the European Parkinson’s Disease Association (EPDA). Speak also publishes related content for the global Parkinson’s community via the Parkinson’s Life online magazine.

Featured podcasts guests from around the world have sparked conversations on everything from fitness and food, to sex and relationships, to parenting and the pandemic.

Saskia Mair, senior content producer at Speak Media and editor of Parkinson's Life, said: "We've always known that the Parkinson's Life podcast is special, but to get this industry recognition is just fantastic. The guests we bring together every month make it a life-affirming listen for everyone, whether or not they're impacted by Parkinson's."

Reacting to the award, the EPDA commented: “The Parkinson's Life team have done an outstanding job in producing a podcast that gives a voice to the Parkinson's community on fundamental yet too often neglected issues. The quality and relevance of the podcast content is testified by this achievement as well as by the consistent positive feedback we keep receiving from the international Parkinson's community.”
