In an article published by Brand Chief, Speak Media’s managing editor, Laura Smith, offers eight tips for creating podcasts that will keep listeners tuning in


Last year, our podcast for Parkinson’s Life magazine won ‘Best Global Audio Campaign’ at the Global Content Awards. In a recent Brand Chief article, Speak’s managing editor Laura Smith shared how we did it – highlighting eight steps to creating award-winning podcasts.

“With few barriers to entry and a relatively simple set of technologies to master, podcasting provides a great way to present your brand’s key messaging and news in a warm and social manner,” Laura wrote. “However, while it is easy enough to launch a podcast, it is significantly harder to create one that is successful – and one that generates listeners who decide to return to the podcast again and again.”

Outlining the essential steps to take when creating a branded podcast, Laura wrote: “There’s no hiding with audio. How much your team love communicating in this way will come through to listeners loud and clear.”

But, she added, carefully and creatively planned podcasts can result in “beautiful conversations”.
