Busting Parkinson’s disease myths with a bold infographic

Infographic titled 'Parkinson's is growing faster than you know'.

Many misconceptions still surround Parkinson’s disease – from who is impacted by the condition to its symptoms. With our client, the European Parkinson’s Disease Association (EPDA), we created a bold infographic to challenge three common myths

Did you know that there are more than 40 possible symptoms of Parkinson’s? Or that the condition can affect people of any age? If you didn’t, you’re not alone. Many of the people we interview for Parkinson’s Life magazine and podcast – platforms designed to share voices in the international Parkinson’s community – tell us that others don’t always understand the realities of living with the condition.

That’s why we’ve launched a new infographic exploring some common myths about Parkinson’s. We wanted to share information, highlight perspectives of those in the community – and raise awareness of the important work of our client, the European Parkinson’s Disease Association (EPDA).

Since we launched the campaign to mark World Parkinson’s Day, the infographic has so far earned hundreds of engagements across social media channels, with impressions in the thousands – and growing.

Behind the design

So how did we go about creating the infographic?

We wanted the campaign to both complement our collaboration with the EPDA – and support people in the Parkinson’s community.

The key was to highlight the voices of our interviewees to raise awareness among a new audience. Our team decided to focus on three key things that people often tell us they wish others knew about Parkinson’s.

The result? A bold and dynamic source of figures and myth-busting knowledge.

Designed to be easily shareable on social channels, including Twitter and Facebook, the infographic can be used by anyone who wishes to learn more – and to support those impacted by Parkinson’s.
