Inspiration bites at a Barclays event for women entrepreneurs

One of the great pleasures of getting out and reporting ‘on the ground’ for our clients is watching new partnerships come together.

And that’s exactly what happened when our words and pictures team went along to a ‘speed networking’ event at the Barclays Eagle Lab in London’s Notting Hill.

Organised by our Content Works client Barclays and The Entrepreneurs Network think-tank, the evening brought together established entrepreneurs with businesswomen with a start-up to grow or business idea to pursue.

In a room full of inspiring women, two made an instant connection: Sahar Hashemi, Co-Founder of Coffee Republic, and Chika Russell, who left a career in finance to start a food business, inspired by the recipes and ingredients of her childhood in Nigeria.

After spending their allotted five minutes together, Sahar made up her mind to become Chika’s official mentor, saying: “I just see so much untapped potential in her”.
