Speak launches NYC content brand for Brathwait with Stefon Bristol interview
Emerging film-maker and Spike Lee protégé Stefon Bristol is the focus of our launch content for watchmaker Brathwait.
The first story in our new series The Watchlist features an exclusive interview and photoshoot with the Brooklyn-born director.
He gives us the low-down on the inspiration for his latest sci-fi film, See You Yesterday, his partnership with Spike Lee – and what his mum makes of his success.
“She even refinanced her house to help fund my film. I wouldn’t be making movies if it wasn’t for her, she’s been there for me,” Stefon reveals in the profile, which is accompanied by specially commissioned images from one of Speak’s favourite photographers – Pascal Perich.
The Watchlist is part of a package of Speak-produced editorial features the brand is running on the ‘Journal’ section of its e-commerce website, alongside other pieces exploring the visual arts scene and unfiltered street style of New York City.
Since the launch of a new content strategy designed to reach out and engage an international audience, our Content Works team is working closely with the brand to produce stories and assets for a range of channels.
Other strands include Crosswalk Style, a regular snapshot of authentic street style produced in collaboration with the NYC Street Photography Collective, and Pencil This, an essential edit of creative happenings in the city.
